Crewing details:
Colwyn Bay is a day crewed wholetime station with two wholetime watches (Blue and Red) and one Retained Duty System (RDS) watch.
Geographical Area covered:
From Glan Conwy in the West to Llanddulas in the east and Betws yn Rhos in the south.
Colwyn Bay crews also cover the whole of the region when the specialist technical rescue equipment is required at an incident.
Sites of Risk:
Mochdre Industrial Estate, North Wales Police HQ, Quinton Hazell, Carbo Plastics, Numerous hotels, the A55 and the Conwy tunnel.
Station History:
Colwyn Bay Fire Station was originally a member of the Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire Fire Service, changing to Clwyd in 1974.
Previously based on Ivy streetsharing premises with the ambulance service,ColwynBaystation has been at its current location since 1955.
Work in the community:
Staff from Colwyn Bay Fire Station take part in numerous fundraising activities for charity, including a recent bike ride across Wales.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award bases a module at the station three times a year.
Pass plus courses are also held on site .
Colwyn Bay Fire Station staff also set up and run an annual fireworks display at Eirias Park.
