RDS firefighters are skilled individuals who do ordinary jobs and offer evening, daytime and/or weekend cover.

Sharing it's grounds with the local ambulance station, Holywell fire station was opened in the early 60's where it was originally part of the Flintshire Brigade moving to North Wales during the amalgamation in 1996.

On Wednesday 4th March 1987, Holywell station and the fire service as a whole suffered a great loss at the untimely death of Fire Fighter Eddie Goodman who lost his life in the line of duty.
