The original fire station was situated at the rear of the town hall in Buckley Square, which was an old garage building and had the old type TV vehicle and trailer pump. The current station was opened by Councillor David Manley Williams in 1959 (the same year as the first National Eisteddfod was held in Llangefni) and shares premises with the North Wales Ambulance Trust and Anglesey County Safety Office.
The first ever rescue appliance was based at Llangefni and for many years attended all forms of rescue incidents eg. Road Traffic Accidents, Animal Rescues, Aircraft Incidents. The first rescue appliance was a converted TV vehicle which carried basic rescue equipment, crowbars, hacksaws and Blackhawk Hydraulic gear. This vehicle carried a crew of 4 with adapted seating at the rear.
