Llangollen is a Retained Duty System (RDS) station.

RDS firefighters are skilled individuals who do ordinary jobs and offer evening, daytime and/or weekend cover.

Flexsys. This is a large chemical manufacturing and processing plant handling various dangerous substances including acids, cyanides and chlorine.

Dobson Crowther. Printing and packaging plant using numerous chemicals including Alcohol, inks and solvent.

Kronospan. Chipboard and MDF manufacturing plant. Massive quantities of wood, chippings and sawdust also chemicals, glues, solvents and formaldehyde.

Various hotels within the Town.

Many three and four storey premises within the town.
Air Products. Heavy engineering plant also processing compressed gasses.

Mountainous areas, risk of mountain fires, disused quarries, forestry areas.

River Dee.

A5 through the turnout area, large quantity of holiday traffic through the summer months.
