Who we are

Who we are

We are here when you need us - protecting lives, homes and communities across North Wales.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is here to keep people safe — protecting communities, businesses and visitors across 2,400 square miles of North Wales.

We serve a population of over 678,000 people, as well as the hundreds of thousands of tourists who visit the region each year. Every day, around 900 dedicated staff work to prevent emergencies, respond to incidents and support our communities.

Each year we attend thousands of incidents, including fires, road traffic collisions and other emergencies, alongside responding to false alarms. We also work proactively with schools, businesses and local communities to reduce risk and improve safety.

Our service is supported by a modern fleet of fire engines, specialist vehicles and equipment — ensuring we are ready to respond whenever and wherever we are needed.
