A woman in her 80s is in hospital following a fire at her home in Bangor.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was alerted by a monitoring system in the property.

Crews from Bangor and Menai Bridge attended the incident on Ffordd Hendre, Bangor at 19.23hrs this evening (Monday 4^th January).

The woman suffered burns and is in a serious condition.

The fire was confined to bedding. The exact cause is being jointly investigated by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police.
