Firefighters from Denbigh were called to an incident involving cooking left unattended in the oven on Llanfair Road, Ruthin at 03:45hrs on Sunday, 15th January.
A man aged 21, a woman, 19, and two children, aged one and a few months old, were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Gareth Griffiths, Senior Fire Safety Manager, said:
"These incidents highlight the dangers of cooking left unattended and the importance of ensuring that you have working smoke alarms to allow you to escape as quickly as possible in the event of a fire.
"It is very important to check over cooking appliances to ensure that everything has been switched off correctly after use and remember to never leave cooking unattended for any length of time - a small fire can quickly spread into a life threatening one. We also advise never to attempt cooking after drinking alcohol - drinking and cooking definitely do not mix.
"If you do have smoke alarms, ensure that you test them regularly. If you do not, we at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service offer free home fire safety checks, where a member of the Service will visit your home, give fire safety hints and tips, help you to formulate a fire escape plan and fit new alarms - all free of charge.
"This service is available to all residents in North Wales. I would appeal to you to check that all your family, friends or neighbours have had a check undertaken
