Rhyl firefighters take on castle to castle bike ride challenge
PostedA group of eight firefighters from Rhyl Fire Station will be taking part in a charity bike ride from North to South Wales this month.
The team will be setting off from Caernarfon Castle on June 27th and hoping to arrive at Cardiff Castle the following day in a challenge to raise funds for The Firefighters Charity and local good causes St Kentigern Hospice and Dangerpoint.
The eight cycling will be: Denbighshire Response Manager Chris Nott, Watch Manager Kevin Warner, Crew Managers Richie Westwood and Duncan Stewart-Ball and Firefighters Helen Pitt, Glyn Morris, Duncan Spencer and David Bell. Firefighter Melvin Roberts and Watch Manager Adam Brightman will be supporting.
Kevin Warner, Watch Manager, White Watch, Rhyl tells us more:
"We are all looking forward to taking on this challenge to raise funds for these three worthy causes.
"On the first day of the event the team will cycle 135 miles along theNorth Walescoast down into Mid Wales for a stop over at Builth Wells. Day two will take the team over the Brecon Beacons to complete the final 87 miles of the journey, arriving atCardiffCastle.
"We've all been putting in pedal practice so we hope that as many people as possible show their support by sponsoring us in this challenge!"
