Flooding incidents in North Wales – update as at 08.00hrs 25th Sept
PostedNorth Wales Fire and Rescue Service has remained busy attending flooding incidents across the region throughout the night - although the situation has subsided.
The incidents attended still mainly involved surface water and overflowing drains, with some water entering homes, but with no homes or buildings seriously affected.
Flintshire remains the most affected area, although incidents have also been reported in Wrexham, Conwy, Denbighshire and Anglesey.
Since 16.00hrs yesterday (24th Sep), 18 further flooding related calls have been received by fire and rescue service control room operators and officers or crews have attended 14 incidents involving properties or people affected by flooding (seeupdate issued at 16.00hrs on 24th Sep),
At 21.48 hrs yesterday evening, a water level 2 rescue was carried out on Chester Road, Sandycroft when a 43 year old man was rescued from his vehicle which was submerged in deep water. He was transferred by ambulance to hospital for a precautionary check up.
Earlier at 19.28 hrs crews were called to a caravan park in Llangollen where 3 caravans were affected by flood which was pumped away.
InAnglesey, at 01.08hrs in the early hours of this morning, a crew was called to Wellington St in Llanerchymedd where a river had flooded and water had to be diverted.
A crew was called to deal with a flooded cellar in Llanddulas Abergele at 18.40hrs yesterday evening and a flooded road inLlanelian Rd, Old Colwyn at 17.55hrs.
Paul Jenkinson from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "We advise the public to heed warnings in the media in relation to travelling advice from North Wales Police - when there is so much surface water is is best not to travel unless absolutely necessary. And if you are faced with floodwater, do not try to drive through it as it may be much deeper than it looks."
