Water rescue near Penmachno
PostedAt 2.39pm today (Sunday, October 20) police were alerted by a member of the public that two canoeists were in difficulty and had become stuck in an alcove near Penmachno, Betws-Y Coed.
Officers alerted the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service to the incident and members of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team also attended.
The two canoeists are both believed to be in their late 30's and one of them was able to make his own way out of the water with assistance.
Firefighters from Llanrwst and from the Water Incident Unit in Bangor attended and the second man was assisted out of the water by members of the emergency services and the Ogwen Valley MRT.
Both men are believed to be safe and well.
