Firefighters are currently damping down at an outside fire involving 1000 tonnes of woodchip at an unit onWeighbridge Road,DeesideIndustrial Park.

They were called to reports of the fire at 10.10hrs today (Wednesday December 18).

Four crews of firefighters from Deeside,Flint, Wrexham andChesterand the Aerial Ladder Platform from Wrexham and the Incident Command Unit from Rhyl are all in attendance.

Crews used main jets and hose reels to tackle the fire and utilised a mechanical digger to move the piles of woodchip.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
