Man and woman in hospital after flat fire in Conwy
PostedA man and a woman have been hospitalised following a fire in Conwy.
Crews from Conwy and Llandudno were called to a first floor flat on Berry Street at 17.18hrs this evening, Friday 15th February.
Firefighters rescued a 34 year old woman from the flat after the alarm was raised by the owner of a nearby commercial premises who witnessed smoke and flames emanating from the flat.
The woman sustained serious injuries in the incident and is currently being treated in intensive care.
A 36 year old man also escaped from the fire and is receiving treatment for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two house reel jets and a thermal imaging camera in rescuing the woman casualty and extinguishing the fire.
The incident is being jointly investigated by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police.
