The call was received at 23.52 hrs and crews from Wrexham,Johnstown, Buckley, Deeside, Llangollen and Mold and an Incident Command Unit from Rhyl attended to deal with the fire at the factory which produces stainless steel rods. The premises was closed at the time of the fire.

Firefighters used two hose reel jets, two main jets, four thermal imaging cameras and eight sets of breathing apparatus to tackle the fire, which caused 5% damage to the factory floor.

Andy Robb from North WalesFire and Rescue Service said:

"The crews were alerted to the fire by an automatic fire alarm system and the factory has sprinklers in the affected part of the factory. They operated and this meant that the fire was confined to the storage area of the factory although the whole floor was affected by smoke.

"The swift actions of crews helped to prevent the fire from spreading further."

The cause of the fire in now under investigation.
