North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a flat on Bridge St, Abergele at 20.54hrs this evening (18^th June).

Firefighters from Abergele attended the scene and used two sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Five people suffered slight smoke inhalation as a result of the incident and were transferred to hospital. Amongst the casualties was a female who had also sustained minor injuries.

Damage to the property was confined to a small area of carpet on the first floor.

The incident is currently being jointly investigated by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police.
