Firefighters from Ruthin, Corwen, Wrexham, Bala and Denbigh and the Environmental Protection Unit from Wrexham were called to reports of a lorry containing 25 tonnes of straw on fire on farmland between Ruthin and Corwen at 12.21hrs today, Monday 15^th July.

The fire is now under control and crews remain at the scene damping down.

The fire is thought to have been started accidentally, but the cause will be investigated later today.

Gwyn Jonesfrom North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said:

"Crews worked well to get the fire under control quickly in hot and dusty conditions."
