Holt pupils shine in fire and rescue service poster competition
PostedFire Officers from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service recently visited Holt Primary School, Wrexham to present the winners of a poster competition with their prizes.
Amy and Max were awarded with the first prize after their handiwork was selected from hundreds of entries from youngsters across North Wales. The competition involved designing a poster about the effects of deliberate fires and why youngsters should not starts fires in the countryside.
They were presented with and iPod shuffle in front of their friends during the morning assembly.
Kevin Jones, Arson Reduction Manager, who presented the voucher, said: "We are pleased that Holt School as well as other schools across the region took time to participate in the poster competition. The purpose of such a competition is for youngsters to learn about fire safety in an enjoyable way - we then hope that they retain the safety messages for the future."
