Emergency Services Carol Service 2014

Posted

THE emergency services in North Wales are preparing to host their annual Christmas carol service.

The service, which is jointly hosted by North Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and their partners, will this year be held at Bangor Cathedral on Monday 8 December at 7.30pm.

There will be performances from Bangor University Brass Band, Côr Aethwy and soloist Ffion Elin Davies, plus readings from representatives of the services and well known carols for the congregation to sing.

Admission to the service is free and members of the public are warmly invited to attend.

Tracy Myhill, Chief Executive (Interim) of the Welsh Ambulance Service, said: "This service is an opportunity for the emergency services and any other service, voluntary or otherwise, to come together to strike the right festive note.

"Anyone is welcome to attend this wonderful evening, which traditionally has always been very well attended and promises to get you into the Christmas spirit.

"The Christmas period is a traditionally busy time for the emergency services, so we encourage people to ease the pressure on our staff by helping themselves, looking after each other and staying safe to avoid the need to call 999.

"I'd like to wish our staff, volunteers, partners and members of the public a very Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy time over the festive period."

Proceeds collected during the service will be halved between the Awyr Las charity and Bangor Cathedral.
