North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police were called to reports of a light aircraft crash on the runway at Caernarfon Airport this evening (Thursday May 15th) at 18.00hrs.

A 55 year old male thought to be inside the aircraft at the time of the collision was taken to hospital with serious injuries and was sadly later pronounced dead.

Air Accident Investigation have been informed of the incident.
