Fire in Llangefni
PostedFirefighters are in attendance at a building fire on Church Street, Llangefni. The initial call was received at 10:03am this morning, (Tuesday, 11th August).
Three crews from along with an Aerial ladder platform are in attendance at the incident.
Firefighters are tackling the fire using 3 hose reel jets, and one main jet. The property has been evacuated, and there are no reports of casualties.
Fire and Rescue Service are working hard on preventing fire spread to the furniture shop next door, and are implementing safety precautions for the structure’s gable end. Measures are also being taken to prevent any fire water from entering the drains under the supervision of Natural Resources Wales.

The fire is now under control but Fire and Rescue Service staff and appliances remain at the scene following a multiple agency response.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is now concentrating on damping down and in liaison with Local Authority Building Control assessing the safety of structure of the building as it has suffered significant fire damage.
North Wales Police are controlling traffic flow and road closures. Natural Resources Wales is assisting and assessing the potential effects on the environment with fire water making its way into drainage systems/rivers etc. Fire crews used four main jets and three hose reel jets to tackle the fire. An aerial ladder platform was used as a water tower. The attendance increased to four pumping appliances, the Incident Command Unit and the Environment Protection Unit.
Firefighters successfully prevented significant spread of the fire to a neighbouring furniture shop along with measure to reduce the impact of smoke and water.
A full investigation is now under way as to what have caused the fire.
