An investigation is underway following a fatal house fire in Blaenau Ffestiniog yesterday evening (14th January).

Shortly after 21.30hrs North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was notified of a house on fire on Cwm Bowydd Road.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets entered the building and removed a male from the property.

The elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ambulance Service.

A joint investigation between the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police is now underway to establish the cause of the fire.
