Mold firefighters raise funds for local charities
PostedLocal charities came together at MoldFireStation this week to receive a total of £2,000, raised during the annual bonfire and fireworks display in November.
Ty Gobaith, Home Start, Daffodils Club and New Life all received donations of £500 each.
Peter Edwards, Watch Manager at Mold Fire Station, said: "I would like to thank everyone involved in organising last year's bonfire - it was a real team effort with everyone pulling together to produce an excellent event that was enjoyed by the whole community.
"We are proud to be working with the residents of North Wales to keep them as safe as possible, and seeing the money going back into the community makes all the organisation and hard work worthwhile.
"Our priority is to keep our residents safe - and attending organised displays is a good way to keep safe during fireworks season. At this time of year, it's important to keep fire safety in the home at the forefront of your mind.
"We at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service offer free home fire safety checks for all residents in North Waleswhere a member of the Service will visit your home to give fire safety hints and tips and fit new smoke alarms where necessary. To register, phone 0800 169 1234, e-mail cfs@nwales-fireservice.org.uk or visit www.nwales-fireservice.org.uk."
