A historic building near Trawsfynydd has been destroyed by fire.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have launched a joint investigation with North Wales Police after the fire engulfed Rhiw Goch Inn on the holiday complex near Trawsfynydd.

Six fire-fighting appliances, two water bowsers and an aerial ladder platform were used to tackle the blaze which started at around 12.30am today, Sunday 14^th October.

Group manager Kevin Jones, Community Safety Manager for Conwy and Denbighshire said: “The cause of the fire, which destroyed 100% of the historic building, is under investigation. Thankfully no-one was injured and the efforts of the fire fighters in attendance prevented the fire spreading to the adjacent buildings.”
