North Wales Fire and Rescue Service Awards Ceremony

The Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd, Mr Edmund Seymor Bailey presented Long Service and Good Conduct Medals to operational staff from the Service during a Presentation Ceremony held at Rhyl Community Fire Station on Monday 14th September.

The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is awarded to firefighters by Her Majesty's Representative in recognition of 20 years service.

Awards recognising 40 years of Service were also presented as well as eight Community Awards to recognise members of staff and the community who have worked hard to improve community safety in North Wales.

Simon Smith, Chief Fire Officer said: "Receiving a medal is an important occasion for every firefighter and this ceremony demonstrates the degree of commitment and dedication each one of the recipients has given to the Fire and Rescue Service in North Wales. All recipients can take pride and satisfaction in receiving their Long Service and Good Conduct Medals or Loyal Service Awards."

Councillor Peter Lewis, Deputy Chair of the North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority, said: β€œOn behalf of Members of the North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority I would like to congratulate everyone who received a medal. Also, congratulations to those who received the 40 year awards and the community awards ceremony – many thanks to you all for your dedication and to our external partners who continue to work with us to protect our communities.”
