A 80 year-old woman was rescued by firefighters from her home at Mancot last night after a monitoring system alerted North Wales Fire and Rescue Service to a fire in her home.

Crews from Deeside and Buckley were called to the property at Prince William Gardens at 8.46pm on Friday the 15^th November.

The woman has been transferred to hospital by ambulance suffering from burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
